It was a beautiful night. A cold breeze blew making her shiver slightly and clutch her coat closer to her frail body. Looking down from the roof over the city she saw tiny bright lights cruising down the streets, the brightly-lit coast in the distance, the occasional wail of the siren. She soaked in the life of the city, breating it ibto her lungs along with the cool night air and exhaling it back out again.
Taking off her shoes she lined them neatly besides his letters. Hoisting herself up with slight difficulty on the ledge, she put her heels together, just as she used to before a jete, toes just off the ledge. Her hands, her eyes staring blankly down at the bright city below. Images flashed before her eyes as her hands began trembling. Blinking back her tears, she bent her knees slightly and jumped.
Her thin, pale arm arched gracefully over her head, like wings unfolding. For a moment everything around her was alive and colourful and vibrant, just as it had been once. She smiled herself.
It was enough for her.
